The Prevention Center aims to promote the well-being of children and youth and to reduce the prevalence of high risk behaviors and poor outcomes for children, families and communities and can be found at http://www.prevention.psu.edu), tells us that “self-regulation abilities are the prerequisite for acting responsibly”. A child’s capacity to be accountable and responsible are vital components to success in their lives. Moral teachings alone, like character counts programs, are not enough. Developing the skills to follow through are equally as important.
The Capables Early Childhood Development System™ is specifically designed to maximize the utilization of the critical development window between three and six years of age, when both language centers, and the emotion centers of the brain are developing. During this critical developmental window there are vast numbers of connections being made between the frontal lobe and the other portions of the brain. The frontal lobe is the executive that integrates emotion, reasoning, language aspects, and makes decisions based on all those characteristics, and then sends it to the motor neurons for action. It's the least genetically determined part of our self and therefore, the most likely to be modified by parental influence, what we learn and what we experience.
Researchers tell us that the amount of positive emotions like joy, love, tenderness, and accomplishment are critical to establishing the correct brain pathways in our children. Our children need to have opportunities to focus on these positive emotions much more than negative emotions. Research also tells us that what we attend to, pay attention to, or focus on becomes our reality, and what we don’t attend to or focus on fades out of our reality.

When I was five-years-old my mother bought a book at a garage sale for a nickel. It was filled with positive poetry and stories about the enormous power and importance of your thoughts.
Even thought we were very poor, my parents wanted me to believe that I could be anything I chose to become. They believed in miracles, character and stressed hard work and determination.
Through my dedication to my education, years of experience in counseling families, couples and children and through many thousands of pages of research evolved this beautiful, delightfully easy to use, delightful parenting tool that turns the hard work of parenting into PLAY.
All I have done, all I have achieved, has been out of my love for excellence, my passion for possibility and
my belief that that there is greatness within each of individual. As a relationship, parenting and personality expert, I was blessed and fortunate to chosen by Oprah Magazine and The White House Project as one of 80 emerging women leaders in the nation in 2008.

About Dawn Billings
My life’s mission has been to work with individuals, couples and organizations to help them unlock the keys to personal resilience and emotional intelligence. I have learned that if people gain insight into their color personality tendencies as well as, the color personality tendencies of others, they enjoy much greater success and flourish across all life domains. As I have now entered my seventies, instead of retiring, I created a luxury resort for individuals and couples to heal, strengthen and fortify their relationships. As the Executive Director of the Relationship Help Resort in Arizona. I have spent the last five years creating RelationshipHelp.com online relationship programs. Now you can bring me into the comfort of your own home and take advantage of the 45+ years of experience and expertise, as I walk you through basically a master's degree in effective and respectful communication and relationship success.
I have always been naturally curious and driven by a desire to understand and effectively communicate with people. I inspire people to implement practical tools and strategies that are informed by latest advances in neuroscience, personality and human psychology. I have spent many years deepening my understanding of optimal human functioning and skilled communication. I completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology, while my doctorate work focused on Personality and Neurophysiology. I have always wanted to help people better understand what makes them feel, do and say some of the things they can't believe they feel, do and say.
I have enjoyed success and accolades throughout my career. In 2008 I was selected as one of the nation's 80 emerging women leaders by Oprah Magazine and The White House Project, as well as, chosen as one of 15 "Women of Achievement" by the Cobb County, Georgia, YWCA for my socially dynamic programs and life long dedication to the benefit of women and children. I am the inventor of a patented parenting tool and author of over 15 books on relationships, personality, parenting, happiness and success.
My highly acclaimed Primary Colors Relationship Personality Test™ administered to over 90,000 people each year, focuses on strengthening communication and leadership skills, building strong and lasting relationships, and greatly improving productivity. I provide advanced communication training at the Relationship Help Resort in Arizona. I also train other counselors, clergy, coaches and leadership trainers to use my personality technology in their practices and leadership trainings, as well as, license my relationship personality tests around the world. My tests and technology is also used in colleges for leadership and communication courses.
P.S. If I am now in my seventies, do I know that many of my pictures are of a much younger me? Heck yes. But I am still young at heart. Earlier in my life, before I walked out on stage or filmed videos, I used to ask my sons "How do I look?" to which they would kindly answer "INcredible Mom. You look incredible." A couple of months ago I was filming some new training videos. My youngest son was behind the camera and I asked "How do I look?" He paused and smiled as he thoughtfully answered "You look Credible Mom. Amazingly CREDIBLE!" That might be the truest and most lovely compliment I have recently received.
